GRENADA - THE LOCATION

Located in the eastern Caribbean at the southern extremity of the Windward Islands, Grenada is North of Trinidad and Tobago and south of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (accessible as a day trip). At the closet point it is only 86 miles from South America!

The island is twelve miles (18 km) wide and twenty-one miles (34 km) long. With 133 square miles of mountainous terrain, reaching heights of over 2,750 feet atop Mount St. Catherine, it is a verdant island of outstanding natural beauty. It’s also home to numerous white sand beaches.

In a fortunate location outside of the hurricane belt, Grenada has a warm climate, with average temperatures ranging from 24C/75F to 30C/80F that are tempered by cooling trade winds.

The island is accessible from both North America other Caribbean Islands and Europe with 16 separate airlines serving Grenada’s Point Salines International Airport.
From the UK flights are scheduled 5 times a week using Monarch, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways. Flights to Grenada are available from £300.
Mainland Europe is served by Condor flying weekly from Frankfurt.

November 2008 also saw the start of Miami’s daily direct route with American Airlines. And due to increased demand Air Jamaica has just increased is direct route to Grenada from JFK (NY) to 3 flights a week.

Grenada’s coastline consists of a collection of bays and inlets where small fishing communities nestle alongside the visiting yachts, giving Grenada the reputation as one of the best sailing destinations in the Caribbean.
